We will pick you up from your hotel and then start exploring Bucharest by driving and walking (relaxed walks)

1. The Village Museum – it is the second largest outdoor museum in Europe and it will take you back to how traditional Romanian life used to be a few centuries ago.

2. On the way to our next stop, we will pass by the Arch of Triumph. It was inaugurated in September 1936 in honor of WWI Romanian soldiers. It is a very popular place for parades on December 1st, the National Day of Romania.
3. We will walk along the enchanting Victoria Avenue, oldest boulevard in the city, to arrive at Revolution Square and later at University Square, two landmarks that honor Romanian freedom fighters. In bloody December 1989, communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu addressed the nation for the last time from the balcony of the former Central Committee building. Bullet holes from those December days could been seen on the nearby buildings for many years.

4. Close by, we can be see the National Art Museum located in the former Royal Palace, the Romanian Atheneum, an iconic concert hall, Kretzulescu church, built in the Brancovenesc style, the Central University Library, and last but not least, the University of Bucharest, founded in 1964.

5. The tour continues with a relaxed walk to the Old Town area, where we can see other historic buildings including the Stavropoleos Church, Palace of Justice, History Museum, and National Bank of Romania. We can stop for lunch at one of the traditional and most popular beer houses in Bucharest, "Caru’ cu Bere", opened in 1879, or simply have some refreshments at one of the nice street cafés/restaurants nearby
6. Also in the Old Town, we will visit the Old Court, the residence of Vlad The Impaler (the inspiration for Bram Stocker's Dracula), Princely Church, the oldest church in Bucharest, and Manuc’s Inn, one of the oldest and best known inns/restaurants in Bucharest

7. The Romanian Patriarchal Cathedral and Patriarch Palace (built 1654-1658) – the center of the Romanian Orthodox Church

8. Parliament Palace – third largest administrative building in the world, designed by a team of 700 architects. It holds the record for the most expensive administrative building ever built and the heaviest one. Construction started in 1984 with the demolition of an entire neighbourhood, including important historic buildings (national monuments), and completed in 1997. It now houses the Romanian Chamber of Deputies and Senate, three museums, and a conference center. A guided tour is available.

At the end of the tour, we will drive you back to your hotel.
